The following are free step by step instructions for you to print and use. These projects have a package available which will make 5 cards (either identical or similar designs) and include all the items you need to complete the project (excluding basics like tools and adhesives). We have also provided details of the items used in the project if you would like to buy them separately.
Note: The punches used in this card can be substituted with any that will give the same layered flower look.
1. Cut and score a 12cm square card from a sheet of A4 card.
2. Mark 4.5cm up from the bottom right of the front of the card, draw a line from this mark to the top left of the front of the card (on the fold line). Cut down this line on the front of the card only.
3. Cover the front and inside back of the card with co-ordinating bright papers.
4. Lightly swipe a black inkpad around the edges of the front and back of the card to give definition.
5. Cut a 1.5cm wide piece of black glimmer paper and a 1cm wide piece of co-ordinating coloured paper. Stick the coloured strip onto the black glimmer strip (double sided tape will probably be best for this) and stick both along the diagonal cut away edge of the front of the card.
6. Cut a length of ribbon (grosgrain is best) and stick horizontally on the front of the card approx 1.5cm up from the bottom.
7. Create a false bow by folding back the ends of a small piece of the same ribbon and secure with a co-ordinating brad (a medium sized one works best). Stick this bow to the ribbon on the front of the card.
8. Create 4 layered ‘flowers’ from punched shapes out of the waste co-ordinating papers you have left (or use those provided in the kit).
9. Stick 3 layered ‘flowers’ down the strip on the top edge of the front of the card.
10. Punch out two fern leaf shapes in green or a co-ordinating paper. Stick these at an angle towards the left of the front of the card just above the ribbon. Then stick on the last ‘flower’.
11. You can add glitter glue or gems to the centre of each flower. A greeting would look good on the top right of the inside back.
