The following are free step by step instructions for you to print and use. These projects have a package available which will make 5 cards (either identical or similar designs) and include all the items you need to complete the project (excluding basics like tools and adhesives). We have also provided details of the items used in the project if you would like to buy them separately.
Note: The punches used in this card can be substituted with any that will give the same layered flower look.
1. Take an A4 sheet of white card and score lengthways into three equal sections (this measurement may be marked as DL or A4 Gatefold on your scoring board). Each section should be 9.8cm wide.
2. Score the two outside panels in half (at approx 4.9cm from the edge).
3. Mark a point halfway along the length of each of the outer edges (approx 10.5cm) then draw a line and cut from the outside fold line to this mark creating a diamond gatefold effect on the front (see finished card).
4. Pick three co-ordinating papers. Stick one on the inside of the card, another on the front side panels and the third on the diamond fold backs.
5. Use straight peel off borders around the edges of the front diamond shapes.
6. Stick a large butterfly peel off onto a piece of coloured vellum and cut it out.
7. Stick the body of the butterfly to the left front flap so that the wings are not stuck down and can be bent slightly outwards.
8. Punch out several layered flower shapes using co-ordinating papers (like the waste from those already used) and stick on the right hand diamond flap and on the front of the card. If you have purchased the kit these will be pre-punched for you.
9. Stick 3 of the larger flower shapes on the inside bottom of the card.
10. You can add glitter glue or gems to the centre of each flower
