The following are free step by step instructions for you to print and use. These projects have a package available which will make 5 cards (either identical or similar designs) and include all the items you need to complete the project (excluding basics like tools and adhesives). We have also provided details of the items used in the project if you would like to buy them separately.
Note: you can use any scene stamp to create a similar effect.
1. Stamp your image onto white card using Stazon Black Ink and let dry for a few minutes.
2. Get a white tile or ceramic plate to mix the colour on. You will also need a small pot/jar of clear water. Use your brush to put a bit of water onto the tile/plate.
3. Scribble over this water with your chosen colour of watercolour pencil (start with brown); be careful not to press too hard as the lead may break. Repeat this next to the brown with other colours which you can blend together to make different shades of brown (black, yellow or red for example).
4. Decide where the light is shining from on your picture, the image may have some shading on it (the harbour image has this to the left), this shading is away from the light and should be coloured darker than the side of the object (in this example a building) to the right.
5. Start with the darkest side of the building and lighten using more water to the right or by mixing colours. You can also darken the left side using a bit of black or darker brown.
6. Continue colouring in the image changing the colour/shade for different buildings (as shown in the example).
7. When you have finished painting leave the image to dry.
8. Trim the image and stick onto black pearlised/shiny card with double sided tape leaving a good sized border.
9. Cover the front of your card with paper which represents wallpaper.
10. Attach a small piece of cord or wire to create a loop at the top of the picture.
11. Stick on the picture using foam pads.
12. Attach a brad to the top of the loop of cord/wire to give the impression of a nail in the wall.
13. Finish with the anchor die cut shape in the bottom right corner.
