The following are free step by step instructions for you to print and use. These projects have a package available which will make 5 cards (either identical or similar designs) and include all the items you need to complete the project (excluding basics like tools and adhesives). We have also provided details of the items used in the project if you would like to buy them separately.
Note: You can use any similar floral stamp to create the same effect
1. Stamp your image onto white card using Stazon Black Ink and let dry for a few minutes.
2. Get a white tile or ceramic plate to mix the colour on. You will also need a small pot/jar of clear water. Use your brush to put a bit of water onto the tile/plate.
3. Scribble over this water with your chosen colour of Stardust pen for the leaves (green or mix blue with yellow).
4. Decide where the light is shining from on your picture, the image may have some shading on it (on the rose it is towards the middle of each petal), this shading is away from the light and should be coloured darker than the other parts of the object.
5. Start painting with the middle of a leaf and lighten using more water to the edges. You can add ink direct from the pen onto the image if you want to darken the veins on the leaves further, and use your brush to blend the colour. Repeat for the other leaf.
6. Colour the flower in the same way using a red or pink. Again start with some water on the tile and add colour, then paint from the darkest to lightest adding water as needed. If you want a stronger colour you can add ink direct from the pen to the darker parts and blend out towards the edges.
7. Apply a contrasting colour (in the example we used purple) to the background as a wash (mix the colour with water on the tile and evenly paint the background.
8. When you have finished painting leave the image to dry.
9. Trim the image and stick onto purple card/paper with double sided tape leaving a good sized border.
10. Cover the front of your card with patterned paper.
11. Stick on the picture using foam pads so that the fold is at the top of the card (making it a landscape card).
12. Wrap a piece of chiffon ribbon around the top of the card and tie in a double knot on the front, trim to give the impression of a bow.
13. You can add a greeting as you wish.
