The following are free step by step instructions for you to print and use. These projects have a package available which will make 5 cards (either identical or similar designs) and include all the items you need to complete the project (excluding basics like tools and adhesives). We have also provided details of the items used in the project if you would like to buy them separately.
Note: The punches used in this card can be substituted with any that will give the same layered flower look.
1. Trim 6cm (2 1/2 inches) from the width of an A4 piece of card (making it long and thin).
2. Score at 10.5cm, 21cm and 25.25cm – I used a scoring board and scored at ½ A5, folded over the card and placed the fold line up to the edge then scored at ½ A5 again and ½ A4.
3. Fold the card so that you have a landscape card with a step up section at the front (see photo for finished card).
4. Cover the main part of the card front (approx A6) with a piece of patterned paper 9approx A6 in the kit), cover the front step up piece with another co-ordinating patterned paper.
5. Stick on the ribbon across the front of the step up piece (I recommend you use hi-tack tape end to end and trim off the ends, don’t tuck them under). Note you will need another piece of the same ribbon later.
6. Cut a small rectangle of contrasting patterned paper 2 ½ “ x ¾ “ and layer onto the black glimmer paper leaving a small border. Stick on three candle buttons (if using glue you may need to let dry before continuing).
7. Cut two small lengths of the ribbon you used earlier, fold them in half and attach to the back of the presents topper with a brad at either side.
8. Attach the whole thing to the front step up on the left using foam pads.
9. Stick one of the small punched shapes to the jumbo brad. Attach this to the top right of the main section of the card.
10. Make seven layer flowers. Stick three of them to the main section of the card (flat or using foam pads).
11. Cut 4 small pieces of wire and bend them into a spiral using a pen or other small round object leaving a straight bit at either end. Stick one end to a flower (I used a tiny piece of selotape, if you have more time use glue) and the other to the back of the step up part of the card. Do this for all 4 flowers.
12. You can add glitter glue or gems to the centre of some of the flowers. A greeting would look good on the top left of the card or on the right hand side of the front.
